Bazanji Lyrics
I've been keepin' real
I've been doin' what I feel
I've been out here tryna kill
Every beat I know I will
Everything I'm working on
Every night another song
They've been quiet all along
They gon' notice when I'm gone
Too many thoughts on my mind I can't sleep at night so I just keep writing
I don't need no help, I don't need opinions so don't waste my time then
Killin' the game and I got it
Go ask anybody they all heard about it
They knowin' the kid and he spittin' it
Knowin' he gettin' it
Better not get in my way
Got this on lock do whatever I say
Cause I can go put you on blast
People been mad at me cause I don't follow them back
I'm laughing cause that is so whack
Why they all tryna act like they been bossin' when really their bosses been bossin' em up
Nobody ever been tellin' me what I would do and I'm keepin' the cash while they shit outta luck
I want it more now I get what I wish
Upgraded now it's a Benz that I whip
Making 6 figures don't talk about it
Money ain't shit it's about how you think
Tired of people who makin' excuses
Then they complain about losin'
Tell me bout what u been doin'
Tell me bout how u been movin'
You ain't got nothin' to prove then
I did it all on my own
They lookin' like all of my clones
I don't be following trends
Fuck all the popular clothes
U fakin' and everyone knows
I just be keepin' it real
They thinkin' that I have to go sign a deal
But really the people just found an appeal
I'm in my own lane and I'm steering the wheel, aye
It's funny how it goes, funny how it goes
Talkin' bout shit they don't even know
Why they tryna tell me 'bout what I should do
They don't know about the shit I been through
It ain't what it seems it ain't what seems
Been 4 years I've been chasing dreams
This ain't overnight this ain't overnight
Workin' every night till the sunrise
Fed up with too many things
Every time the phone rings
Everything the world brings
I been tryna grow wings
Fly away to the kings
I need to take my advice
Tellin' myself and I know that I'm right
Don't listen at first so I go say it twice
Just think about what's gon' be important in life
I can't waste my time thinkin' bout the girls and the social life that I lost
Everything that's worth it ain't free
And the good life comes with a big cost
I'm a bit lost
But I bounce back
Like Big Sean
And I will attack
Like King Kong
Yea I been on
And they been wrong
And I stay strong
Like woah
Wish I could talk to the younger me
Tell him you don't need to stress out
Everything gonna be good soon
Just focus on being the best out
Never the less I won't ever get less than I'm worth and I know I'm the best now
Lookin' around and it's lookin' like everyone busy they wanna invest now
These people the reason I doubted me
I thought that I wouldn't be good enough
But now that they all reaching out to me
I'm wishing I always had knew wassup
I'm livin' the same as the listeners but I just stuck with a vision
I been tryna motivate everyone listening
Tell em to trust what they want and to stick to ambition
It's funny how it goes, funny how it goes
Talkin' bout shit they don't even know
Why they tryna tell me 'bout what I should do
They don't know about the shit I been through
It ain't what it seems it ain't what seems
Been 4 years I've been chasing dreams
This ain't overnight this ain't overnight
Workin' every night till the sunrise
BIOGRAPHY
Shad Albarazanji (Born August 6, 1995), known professionally as Bazanji, is an American hip hop artist of Kurdish descent. The 22-year-old artist was born in Bishop's Stortford, England and moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina at the age of 6. Bazanji is also a full-time dental school student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He has been validating his path into the hip-hop scene with over 14 million online streams and many performances alongside noteworthy artists such as DJ Khaled. Before discovering hip-hop, Bazanji experienced a rich taste of music as a drummer in various rock bands. Due to his musical background, he made it a priority to be in control of all aspects of his work, as he handles all writing, engineering, mixing, mastering, and occasional production. Bazanji hopes to tell his story as a student artist; an uncommon occurrence in current hip-hop.
CAREER
2013-2014
Bazanji started recording music during his freshman year of college at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill while in his dorm room. In an interview, he mentioned that he would record until it got the point where he thought it was good enough to post online. He also mentioned that he would never drop out of school since he's always wanted to be a dentist and serve the community.
Early on in his career, Bazanji received spotlight from respected hip-hop websites, such as HotNewHipHop, where he was selected as a finalist of the Heatseekers competition.
In September 2014, Bazanji released Paradox, a mixtape that revolved around the "idea that being both a student and a rapper is a living contradiction."
2015-2016
Following the release of Paradox, Bazanji released 7 records on his SoundCloud page, which have accumulated nearly 3 million cumulative streams. His record, The City (ft. Cam Meekins & Jackson Breit) (Prod. SimsBeats), was released on April 16, 2015 and has almost 2 million streams on Spotify alone.
In February 2016, Bazanji released High Definition, a mixtape that he states was "inspired by [his] experiences over the last few months, including [his] senior year of college, old girls, and a taste of success."
2017
Bazanji gained lots of buzz in 2017 as his records Fed Up, Lights Go Down, and Mannequins (ft. Anthony Russo) each gained over 1 million streams on Spotify within 8 months of release. Also, Bazanji recorded the introduction for Tazz's internet radio show, The Taz Show. In April 2017, he performed with DJ Khaled at the University of Miami. His song Beachside (ft. Jackson Breit) was used by Infor in a national TV commercial, originally airing in late April on NBC and CNBC. Lastly, Bazanji's music has been heard in the videos of Jake Paul, Tanner Fox, Daniel Negreanu, Gary Vaynerchuk and more.
